Important Considerations for Garlic Conversions:
Garlic clove sizes vary greatly (small, medium, large). This chart assumes "medium" cloves unless specified, which are about 1 to 1.5 inches long.
**Minced Garlic:** 1 medium clove yields roughly 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.
**Garlic Powder:** It is much more concentrated than fresh garlic. Use about 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder for every medium clove.
**Granulated Garlic:** It is less fine than powder and slightly less concentrated. Use about 1/2 teaspoon of granulated garlic for every medium clove.
Jarred minced garlic (often packed in water or oil) can be substituted 1:1 for freshly minced garlic by volume (e.g., 1 tsp jarred = 1 tsp fresh minced).
Flavors differ: Fresh garlic has the brightest, most complex flavor. Dried forms have a different, often more mellow or roasted flavor profile. Adjust to taste.
