Important Considerations for Evaporated Milk:
Evaporated milk is concentrated milk from which about 60% of the water has been removed. It's denser than regular milk. The density is approximately 1.03-1.06 g/ml.
1 US Cup = 236.59 ml. Common can sizes are 5 fl oz (148ml) and 12 fl oz (355ml).
The weight of evaporated milk can vary slightly between brands and fat content (whole, low-fat, skim).
Evaporated milk can often be reconstituted to regular milk by mixing with an equal part of water (1:1 ratio), but always check product instructions.
Do not confuse with sweetened condensed milk, which has a large amount of sugar added and is much denser and sweeter.
